SEO?

How do you get a better SEO ranking on google? That is the million dollar question! While there are several ways to go about this, there are a few sure fire ways to get started!

First, one of the most impactful ways to gain those top spots is by blogging. Incorporating a blog into a website can have a huge impact on that website's overall rankings. A blog does two important things in terms of overall search engines. 1. Adds naturally occuring, key word rich pages. 2. Increases the potential for incoming links from high-quality websites.

Ways to celebrate MOM including -Social Media

Happy Mother's day to all of you out there who are mom's, have mom's, or will be moms!

This morning I was reading an article that pointed out all of the money we WASTE on silly, meaningless, Mothers Day stuffed animals, cards, and flowers that will die. The author suggested that instead of doing all of this stuff... we look our mom's in the eyes - and simply tell them how much they mean to us. Don't just tell them you love them - show them you love them. An afternoon spent in the park reminiscing, will be more cherished than even the most expensive bouquet.

So we can close our wallets? No... I am not saying this. But what if instead of doing something frivolous for your mother, you did something wonderful in her honor? Something that would HELP a mom who really needed it?

Charitywater.org is selling ecards this Mother's day to help to solve the world's water crisis. They are also accepting donations do help Haiti with their current water crisis that LiveStrong is matching. Great cause! Over one billion people on this planet don't have access to clean and safe drinking water.

There is another site called tomamawithlove.com - a collaborative online art project that honors moms and raises funds to invest in one incredible momma who dreams of building a home for children in her village. You can also tweet through this site!

There are so many other options and ways you can go with this.... donate to a battered women's shelter, clean out the toy chest and donate some good toys to a local charity so that a momma in need can provide her children with some fun, help to stock a local food pantry, offer to tweet for a month for a worthy charity, etc... . You get the concept. Maybe you can do this WITH mom in HONOR of mom. She would be so proud of you!

That is it... happy Mother's day to all the great mommas that I know!

Blogging For Business

Does your blog help your business? If done well, it should!

Blogs require two things; commitment & time. Because of this, blogs need to have tangible benefits for your business - if not, why do it?

You never know when a prospective customer will find himself reading your blog? Maybe he saw it via a social media site? Maybe a friend found it relevant and passed it on to him? In any case, when writing your blog, you should always consider how this posting will convert into a sale or at minimum a "lead" with your target audience.

* A call to action is necessary. (as an account manager at Paparazzi Marketing, I can/will blog for you) What do you want to accomplish with this potential customer? Be specific!
* Updating your blog on a consistent basis is an absolute must! Once you get followers, it is important to keep them engaged. If they visit your blog and there is nothing new once - fine, if it happens multiple times, they will move on. People are fickle!
* Don't assume that visitors to your blog know who you are? Many of the folks who will land on this blog page at one time or another will have no clue what I do or what I sell. Be sure to put this information someplace on the page. www.paparazzimarketing.com.
*Encourage comments with compelling questions to your readers. Search engines consider comments important, the more comments the better, but on the net... nothing is straightforward.

Your blog is an important business tool. Blog posting as part of your business marketing strategy is one of the best ways to connect and interact with your current and potential clients.

Capturing Fans - TGI Fridays

Yesterday was much too long. Between three of the longest appointments in history, two cranky little tots, and a husband that needs to understand that leaving your plate near the sink does not qualify as "cleaning up after yourself", I was pooped at the end of the day! So I traded my super hero cape for some bunny slippers and slid as low on the sofa as I could go! Ahhhh.

As I sat there, I was reminded of a similar day, last summer that gave me a dejavoo feeling... right down to the bunny slippers and the rather large glass of wine I had poured (did I not mention this)?!

I flipped on the TV and of course found nothing that I wanted to watch. So... I channel surfed. Then... I saw a TGI Fridays commercial that I had not seen before. What captured my attention and what I find worthy of sharing with you (all 13 of you), is that I (the social media queen) was motivated by a free burger. I don't know if I was in a haze after a long day and a giant glass of vino, but I actually found myself thinking of logging on to facebook to "fan" Woody. Woody is a fictional character that TGI Fridays has created and hoped would receive 500,000 fans by 10/30/09. If that goal was reached, each new "fan" would get a free Jack Daniels burger.

You can see why this campaign not only worked, it was a huge "win" for them and has since been copied by countless others. Think about it? Countless people became a "fan", because, well... "why not get a free burger, right?". All it takes is a click of the mouse. No big deal! Even if they had missed there mark, how many new "fans" do they now have in their direct marketing universe. Genius!

The power of social media shows it's might once again!

Well that is it. I have to get back to work now. Just some thoughts for the day.
